Molly's so crazy!

Molly had a blast at Kathryn and Joe's engagement portrait.

We went to Petco the next day to pick up her and the cat's food and of course she had to guard both bags.  Hahahaha  As if the cats would eat her food too...

Kathryn + Joe

Kathryn moved from Richmond, VA to The Bay Area in California. It was there that she met Joe. We were so excited when Kathryn called us and asked us to be a part of her Richmond wedding. She and Rutsen had known each other while at Collegiate and he was thrilled to reunite with her on one of the happiest days of her life.

Joe proposed to Kathryn at the Eastern Shore, about 3 hours from Richmond. He took her out on her grandparent’s dock and sat her down on the bench. Her grandparents’ home was a special place for Kathryn and she was so happy that Joe had brought her to this place to ask for her hand in marriage. Once Rutsen realized this, he would have it no other way. We were going to drive to her grandparents’ home for their engagement portrait! Our shoot in November fell through because of inclement weather but with us being only 5 days away from wedding day we were not going to let a little rain or fog keep us from photographing Kathryn and Joe at such a special location.

Following the shoot Kathryn invited us to have dinner with her family before we left for Richmond. They had a lasagna that we could not resist and it was an honor to get to know both her and Joe’s family before the wedding.

Our drive home from the Eastern Shore was nerve racking! The fog had settled over the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge and the over head lights were causing the visibility to be virtually non-existent. With Rutsen by my side, asleep, and Molly in the back, snoring like a chainsaw, I followed the truck ahead of me and made it safely across the 20 mile bridge-tunnel. I was thrilled to see that after the last tunnel the fog had slightly lifted. Needless to say, we had a blast and are so excited for their wedding this weekend.
